Hi jay, Welcome to CBF; I know you've found a place where you can be honest about being a boylover - and we'll accept you here whether you become a christian or not. The guys and gals here are really supportive. (I'm new here myself, but I'll introduce myself to all you wonderful guys another day...it's past bedtime here in the UK now, but I just wanted to say hi to jay.) The good news is yes, you can be a christian boylover. (Ask me, I'm one!) There's nothing that can stop anyone being a christian. What's more, no sexual orientation is bad in itself, it's how we treat other people as a result. Even if it was, becoming a christian is all about God putting us right anyway. In fact the things we need God to put right are not the things we first think of - they're much more to do with how we treat him and how we treat each other and the rest of his creation. So rest assured, the only condition for being a christian boylover is: being a boylover! I'd love to ask you loads of questions: How much do you know about christianity? Are you going to church anywhere? I could write a whole load of text here about how to become a christian, but what have you already heard or read? What's your attraction to christianity at the moment? Knowing some of these things will help. But anyway, here's a brief explanation of what it means to be a christian that I wrote to be going on with. There's a lot packed in so read it slowly! Being a christian is all about accepting God's love for you. It's about realising that Jesus has lived the life that you should have lived in a perfect relationship with God and with other people, and joining in with that life. When we die it's God's way of getting rid of our bad relationships out of his universe. But because he loves you, he's provided an alternative way. Because Jesus lived a perfect life, when it came to his death there was nothing bad to get rid of, so he passed through death into new life, the life God really intended for all of us. If you join yourself onto Jesus, then your badness gets removed by his death, instead of your own death, and you're free to go through into that new life as well with him. How do you join yourself onto Jesus? By accepting that all the above is true, that all your badness has been dealt with, and entering a new relationship with God and other christians. Speak to God. Thank him for sending Jesus, and say sorry for not accepting it all before. Become part of the body of people who are all going the same way with Jesus. with love, Jules |
