I wish I could give a yes-or-no answer, but the mandatory reporting laws in most states are awfully vague, and individual psychiatrists interpret them in different ways. I think that Mark took the wisest course when he decided to come out to his pastor: he spent several months discussing general issues, including homosexuality, so that he could determine how his pastor was likely to react when he told him. Of course, if you're paying a psychiatrist, you may not have that luxury. Heather |
