I heard he was Christian before the show started or very early in the show (early 90s?). I haven't watched it in awhile, but during the first few seasons you frequently saw Christian or at least good-ethics motifs at the beginnings and ends of shows, and usually one show a year was a tear-jerker that showed a moral principal in action. One I remember was Walker telling the story about a Ranger back in the 1800s. He had to round up this turned-straight outlaw who by all appearances was helping his old gang. Turns out the former outlaw was being blackmailed - the gang kidnapped his baby. Once the baby was free, he was on Walker's side. I think (and this is from memory years ago) that they got the ex-outlaw to do something self-sacrificial, and the Ranger asked why, and he said because he was a Christian. And the Ranger became a Christian. Or maybe the Ranger did it for the ex-outlaw, I don't remember. Sorry Mark, don't expect a big change. -David ("d", who quit watching Walker when Star Trek was on opposite it). |
