Hi all, and a God blessed New Millenium. How all this will look in eternity, a vapour, a fading flower, grass withering, as the scriptures teach. It has hit me, where has all the time gone. It seems like it was yesterday when I was writing in my school book a new decade at age 9, and thinking I am in a new decade. I also remembering how much I enjoyed being a child, and not wanting to grow up. Most children couldn't wait to get older, but not me. I did not want get older, but yet I matured much quicker then my peers in those days. For two reasons, one I had failed (if you can believe it) grade 2, and being part Italian heritage I looked older than children my age. I remember at age 13, boys in my class asking me to get some booze. At that time I had hair growing on my upper lip, arms, and legs. By the time I was in grade 9, I had shaved for the first time. When I had to fetch someone in a bar at age 17 (drinking age was then 21) a waitress offered me a drink while I was waiting. Now, however I look younger than my peers. I am many times thought to be 10 - 15 years younger than I am now. All this to say that the Lord is wise and good to us. He knows what we need. When I think of the Y2K scare and how many say that it may be the beginning of the return of our Lord. I had my doubts from the very early stages of this scare. However, I too had myself got caught up in the preparations, etc. But I believe the Lord does not get the glory in man's failures (regarding His return), but that He will return with judgements that people cannot doubt it is from Him (Rev.6). Believers will know that His return is at hand. We may not know the day or time (Matt.24:36), but we will know the season (Matt.24:32,33). Let us seek the truth through the word of God. May the peace of God keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus our Lord (Phil.4:7). Love in Christ, Compassion...:×) |
