Hi BLues: First, brother remember the Lord accepts us where we are at. He desires for us to know Him and enjoy Him, but this only comes when we see ourselves for who we are - failures. That it is so neat to know the Lord's rich mercy that is offered to those who are complete failures, as we are. Like in the day of our Lord who took time for the children and the women who were not to be seen or heard from. Secondly, do not see your attraction to boys as something wicked. It is only the lust [sexually speaking] for them that is evil. To desire to see them happy and love life, with the perspective of sharing their life with others is not evil. I believe the Lord has given some the ability to identify with them, and enjoy being around them as a gift to reach them for Christ. Selfishness is the centre of wickedness. To only desire my satisfaction, without regards to others will ruin any life. Teaching YF of being sensitive to others, and wanting to be a blessing to others can only lead to true happiness. Yes, we need to know the balance of loving and discipline of our own lives and those of our YFs. This is not easy, but is possible through the power of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.
