Hi Brothers (and Sisters) in Christ! Just like I promised, I have a review of the latest Christian music I have found. Big Tent Revival continues to simply amaze me with thier strong, faith-filled lyrics and overall musicianship. Thier newest CD, "Choos(eterna)life (that is the closest I can come to the way the title of the CD is written.), is just FULL of really great music! Stylisticly it is a slight departure from their previous three CD's because it has a more "mellow" approach, with plenty of praise-type songs. But don't let this sway your decision to check this one out....it STILL rocks! One of my favorites on this one is the very first song,"Livin' off Your Love". The words say it all, I think...check it out: ....."Never had a father, could depend upon except to bother me, For the things I do. I never had a mother, to hold me in her arms just like the other kids I knew. I am an orphan, alone and wild... You say come to me, just like a child CHORUS: Sometimes it really does amaze me Livin off your love for me Sometimes I just have to stop and think. I am living off of my Father in Heaven. That is just one verse and chorus of this song....cool huh? And the rest of the songs are just as strong in thier message. A wonderful CD to put on if your feeling kind of down and need some up-lifting, OR if you just want to praise the Lord with music by singing along (something I LOVE to do and highly recomend!). I give this CD a big thumbs-up! In fact, I am listening to it right now....for the fifth time in a row. Another band that is just incredible, I think, is Third Day. Thier latest effort, "Time" is just GREAT! This band has a style that, well the only way I can describe it, is like a kind of alternative blues/rock. The vocals stand out as being some of the very best I have heard so far in band-oriented Christian rock music. This guy can really, really sing! And the musicianship in general is supperb. This one rarely ever leaves my CD player, folks, (so your gonna have to get your OWN copy...ha ha ha!). But seriously, I don't think you are going to go wrong with this one, either. Another big, huge, thumbs-up, for Third Day and "Time"! So there are my latest findings in the ministry of Christian Rock music. And I DO believe it is a ministry, a very important one too. No matter what style of music you might like, Christian artists have it covered. And brothers, if you are anything like me, you will NEED up-lifting on a daily basis. Try what I do....put on your favorite Christian music first thing in the morning, it will "set" your whole day up for the Lord....to be more open to Him. And try listening to it right before you go to bed at night...it's a great way to lift your hands and praise Him! For that matter, try listening to Christian music all day long, as much as you can.
