Christian Consultation on BL

Submitted by Mark and Bach on February 04 2000 at 22:47:05

We have scheduled the second annual "Christian Consultation on Boylove" for three days in June. The overall purposes of these consultations are (1) to promote understanding, reflection, and interaction between Christian BLers and non-BLers in a non-threatening environment; (2) to discuss theological implications of BL and how the church can view BL and relate to BLers; and (3) to meet for mutual support and encouragement. Specifically, we hope to focus this year on starting and maintaining Christian support groups for BLers. Last year's meeting was enjoyable, productive, and rewarding. We expect this year's meeting to me even moreso, and hopefully we will have a larger number of participants. For more information about last year's meeting, see http://www.greenbelt.com/news/ph/99/06c.htm, and to read the resulting statement "Beginning the Dialog," see http://www.cblf.org/dialog.htm.

This year's consultation will take place at a church in the eastern part of the U.S. Our plan is to schedule discussion sessions, worship time, recreational activities, and sight-seeing. Lodging and food will be provided at minimal cost.

Participants will be BLers (primarily from CBF) as well as a small number of trusted non-BL friends and pastoral workers. Only people that can be trusted not to "out" anyone will be given details of this meeting.

In order to begin planning for lodging and meals, we would like to get a good idea in the next few weeks of who would be willing to make an effort to come to this gathering. This show of interest will not obligate you in any way, only give us an idea how many people to begin planning for. If you are interested in more details, please send an email to Mark at mark2402@nym.alias.net, by February 20.

In Christ,
Mark and Bach
