I was having a conversation with a 19-year old friend recently and he came out to me as a gay man. He is a Christian and is very active in his church. I had always suspected that this guy was gay but I never talked to him about it because I figured that he would come to me if he ever needed to talk. And that is exactly what he did. I felt honored that he would share this with me. At present, I am the only person in the world that knows he is gay. As he said the other night, the only ones that know are God, himself, and now me. I thought this was a powerful first step--telling another person about his sexuality.

As I said earlier in the post, this guy is a Christian and he is very active in his church. He had many questions for me and I admit that I am usually not at a loss for words but I was this time. I know how I feel about Christianity and homosexuality. I believe that God loves us no matter what our sexuality is and that is precisely what I told my friend. I told him that God made him who he is and that God does not make "junk." He is a child of God that is worthy of love. And if that love comes from another man it's okay. I told him how I felt God brought BLues in to my life and that I am confident that God approves and endorses the relationship that I have with BLues. I still think that God sent BLues to me and vice versa. Our Father has a hand in everything that happens and knows us and what is in our hearts.

I want to know what else I can say to my friend to make sure he knows that God loves him and will not turn his back on him. I can quote Scripture, but I would really like to ask each of you to tell me what is on your heart and if there is anything that I can tell him to encourage him during this time in his life that is no doubt very confusing to him. I have so much respect for everyone that posts here and I would appreciate any help and advice that you can offer. I also covet your prayers as well. Please pray that the Lord leads me to say the things my friend needs to hear.

My friend loves to surf the internet so any sites that might be helpful would also be appreciated. I can pass information along to him and let him study the sites for himself.

Thanks so much for letting me share this with you and thank you for your continued support, prayers, and friendship.
