for the clarification on the Assumption and the link. Unfortunately, about two seconds after the page loaded, it was covered by a tiled ad for XOOM. I guess I'll just have to blow the dust off my copy of the official Catechism of the Catholic Church. Either that, or disable Java... As for the necromancy bit, a casual reader could be seriously misled by your description. There's a big difference between asking the saints for their prayers and staying in touch with people who have died. The latter sounds like we're exchanging the latest news -- the dog ran away, the baby's sick, you'll never guess who arrived in Heaven last week -- that sort of thing. Dirk |
