We have to know when to doubt, when to affirm what is certain, and when to submit. Anyone who acts otherwise does not understand the force of reason.

-Blaise Pascal, Pensées

The problem I have with the Peck method of attaining to sanctity is that it can apparently be achieved without God. Any first-year philosophy student can question everything, but I suspect very few of them are particularly holy.

The Orthodox doctrine of theosis attributes all holiness to God's grace, working in and through and with sinful persons. As Forgiven pointed out, obedience is a key ingredient that we contribute. Other factors in living a Christ-centred life are humility, love, and patience.
