There was one person in my group who was trying to defend the traditional dogma on homosexuality. He was saying "well, I get this gut feeling that it's wrong. I can just tell it's wrong." To which we others responded that that won't do - he can have one "gut feeling", while someone else will have another. The others were more mature about it, although they do affirm that two guys shouldn't be in any sexual relationship.

They're all good guys, though, even the one guy (I think he must just be a little inexperienced in dealing with the issue), so I'm sure they'll be understanding about it and willing to discuss the question honestly.

But I don't have a crush on any of them so I don't have your particular trouble (that is to say, I don't believe any of them think I have a crush on them). Although one of them does have a 14yo son that I haven't met yet... ;)

Have you thought about exercising brutal honesty with your trouble-making prayer partner? Just tell him up front "look, you understand I'm gay, but I don't have a crush on you so don't worry about it." Then let his own self-esteem get over the fact that you're not interested in him after all.
