"Let's play "what if". What if you were teaching SS kids the definition of honour & with this experience you had, how would you explain it to them?" I couldn't; not without incurring the wrath of their parents. You see, I'd explain to the kids that they should always, always question any command they're given, wether it comes from man or God. I'd especially tell them not to be so devoted to God as to do what Abraham was prepared to do to his son. Sometimes, you have to say "no" to God. And if He stalks you like he did Jonah, if He lays on the emotional blackmail, if He threatens the lives of those around you, tell Him where to get off, and to go do His own "dirty" work.
