Hello Jules, So far, the only book of his I've read is The Inner Voice of Love from which the excerpt was taken. It is Nouwen's "secret journal" written when he was going through an exceptionally difficult period of his life. Most of it is quite personal, but applied directly to my own life (at times I could hear "Twilight Zone" music). On re-reading it, I find much more of value to virtually anyone. Dirk had recommended The Return of the Prodigal Son, based on what Nouwen had discovered during the difficult period, and The Wounded Healer, a copy of which I have but haven't read yet. ---Ford |
