"The answer to your original question - how would act differently if there was a hope of resurrection - is that I would probably have got involved in the gay life style and caught AIDS, or with a lot more boys and got dumped in jail and committed suicide. So its a bit important to me :-)" My godson's father has an Uncle who was once a violent man, apparently. He turned to Christianity to help curb his violent tendencies. Now he's the pastor of his own Spiritual chapel. I think I'm beginning to see that Christianity may have something more to offer than just life eternal. Perhaps it can also be a self-imposed "prison" (sorry can't think of a more apt word/analogy at the moment), in which the prisoner's better half acts as warden over the devil within. And this he/she does not because of some desire for repression, but out of love for the well being of his/her fellow man... I have to wonder. Maybe there's much more to all of this than I had originally thought. Rex Infinity |
