Welcome Liz, No, I don't think many people here do act on their impulses. We support each other here to that end. Aversion therapy? I wouldn't go near it. It came out of the old behviourist school of psychology, but it's generally reckoned these days to be psychologically harmful. The problem is that it doesn't allow you to change through self-control but only through an external influence. That doesn't lead to a mature, balanced personality. Much better is open, frank accountablity to other people, and loving support. With love, Jules |
