That in itself doesn't prove homosexual activity okay, of course... No, it doesn't. That's the whole source of my peeve with the man. Sodom can't prove anything like that either way, so it must be put aside when you're trying to discern basic principles. If homosexuality is always wrong, then you can interpret the punishment on Sodom as being partly due to homosexuality. But from the fact that homosexual behaviour was present in Sodom, you can not infer that that part of it was the cause of Sodom's destruction and that therefore homosexuality is always wrong. It's this backwards logic that gets me so irate. Maybe I should suggest the man go back and take a course or two on Mathematics 101 or Logic or somesuch. thanks, Fod |
