The Romans may well have stolen children as slaves. In fact Ben Hur (have you seen the movie?) was sold as a slave, though no longer a child at the time. His Roman master eventually adopted him, gave him full rights as son. But what I've heard of as the "Children's Crusade" was part of the infamous crusades from the middle ages. A 12 year old boy incited his mates to rise up and fight for the cause to liberate the Holy Land from the muslim infidels. Apparently they marched all the way there, where they were promptly caught and sold as slaves. Something like that. It was Crusade No. 5 or 7 or something. F.O.D. |
