Yes, the review prompted a fairly thoughtful exchange on the mailing list about the tension between radical individualism on the one hand and absolute corporatism on the other. Neither extreme glorifies God because they both deny aspects of being human. Each one of us is a unique person, but we are also a part of a larger whole called the Body of Christ. The post which I thought best resolved the tension was the one that emphasized the need for us to receive the gifts which include Scripture and traditional teachings in order to form within us the mind of Christ, and then the responsibility to use that mind to struggle with the issues of our day with respect for our forebears and contemporaries.
