Not to rain on your parade, but where in the Gospel does it say Christ wants us to be happy or achieve fulfillment? He called us to be holy and warned us about trials and persecution.

The blessedness (or happiness, if you like the modern wording) of the Sermon on the Mount lies precisely in finding fulfillment in God and in nothing else.

What Christ did come to bring was abundant life. This is not incompatible with personal fulfillment and happiness, but these relative goods are enjoyed on the way to the absolute good, which is God. "For this is eternal life, that we may know the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom He has sent."
