Back when I first started posting here, one of the things that I said in my self-introduction was: One of the prayers the Orthodox Church uses regularly during Lent is by St. Ephraim the Syrian. I hope that you will all hold me to it in any posting I may do. O Lord and Master of my life, deliver me from the spirit of indolence, meddling, lust for power, and idle talk. But give rather to thy servant the spirit of chastity, meekness of mind, patience, and love. Yea, O King and God, grant that I may know my own sins and faults, and not judge my brother; for thou art blessed for ever. Amen. This evening I realized that I had failed to live up to my own expectations for dialogue. My replies to you have not reflected meekness of mind, patience, or love. Please forgive me.
