I would like to email you, but everyone in the Boylove community warns me not to use email, and I must heed their advice, as what I am open about here is very delicate. I think you would be a fun person to talk to, not that I think of you as a prophet, as I disagree with Hegelian philosophy of religion which the gnosis represents. But you would be fun to discuss things with, not many people (let alone my fellow Christians) have much interest or openness toward gnosticism. I too have been greatly influenced by a priest in my religious development, and as tempting as gnosticism can be at times, I cannot allow myself to think in those terms. The subjective trouble I have with gnosis is that it is very comforting to the intellect, and sociological acceptance, but when your crying out in the middle of the night to God the well known passages of the 4 gospels bring the comfort one needs, not the Apoycrophan of James. For intellect I love Nag Hammadi, but for feelings I gotta go with the big 4 because feelings are how God speaks to me. Of course Thomas is right up there, it is probably my most beloved book, other than the Psalms and Ecclesiastes. I am curious on how you feel about Kabbalah? I find that to be remarkable for Judeo mysticism, as when we think of the Old Testament we imagine this mean jealous tribal diety and Kabbalah turns that 180 degrees. Anyway, please keep in touch.
