Thanks for the tip. I'll try to attend the main Sunday mass at my parish church, the mass where family values are most visibly on display in the makeup of the congregation. Perhaps the homily will refer to the verses you cite.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I consider Morton Smith's discovery to contain a copy of the first part of a genuine letter written by Clement of Alexandria.

It seems reasonable that the youth mentioned in Sunday's gospel reading is to be identified with the youth who is saved in the fragment of "Longer Mark" that Clement quotes. My hunch is that these are two reminiscences of "the disciple Jesus loved" whose personal authority is cited as validating the Gospel According to John. This disciple's special relationship with Jesus is explicit, including snuggling with him in the presence of others.
