Service as a Route to Intimacy

Since writing the reply below, I've been thinking more about the role of service in our lives. When we serve someone, including God, we are sharing our very self with that person; giving him something we have found valuable in our own lives. The more we serve each other and accept from each other, the more we are bound together.

Serving God then becomes a route to a more intimate relationship with him......and we needn't worry, as we sometimes do with people, about our offering being rejected.
