I finally got up the courage about a year ago to tell my pastor I'm a BLer. I had already told him I was homosexual, and was meeting with him weekly. He has been very accepting. Our church is very close to a camp at which it is extensively involved. After I came out to my pastor he still recommended me to the staff coordinator to be a counselor, and I did it two weeks last summer with 5th-8th graders. A couple weeks ago he told his wife that I'm a BLer and what that means (I told him he could). Since then she has treated me no differently, and also tried to recruit me a few days ago to be a counselor at the camp. She has served on its board for some time. Mark |
