God only forgives us of eternal punishments (ie. an eternity of hell) NOT temporal punishments! That is, accepting the earthly consequences for your actions and making reparations. In the case of Jay, that means handing himself over to the COPS and pleading guilty to his crimes. And serving what ever punishment the judge decides to give him.
