Good point. When I say "pain and suffering isn't real", I don't want you to be thinking I mean "pain and suffering isn't real". heh. I'm not entirely sure what I'm trying to say. Likely I need a few more decades 'round the sun before I can it halfway sensibly. Maybe what I mean is that on account of Jesus carrying our pain, we are no longer bound to it, because, from the eternal perspective, he has sucked it away from us like a black hole sucks away light. I think I'm trying to say pain is a passing thing, a most serious thing, to be sure, and one which God takes most seriously, but nevertheless a passing thing. Which doesn't help comforting someone in the middle of that pain, however ephemeral it might be, of course. Fod |
