Welcome, Altima, glad you came by. You're right, life and faith and sexuality can be complicated. I think that's a good question, to ask what right we have to say everyone else is wrong. Ultimately I think the issues we have in dealing with our sexuality are very like the issues all people have: "do I really love him or am I really only driven by lust? Are we committed to each other forever or is it just a passing fancy for him? If we care about each other so much, then isn't sex the right thing?" I suspect these questions bother even the adult heterosexuals. I wish I knew how best to address your questions about faith. I think part of it is a transfer from knowledge in the head to knowledge in the heart. Going from saying "I know about God" to saying "I know God". Sometimes I wonder the same thing "what if it's all a joke and we're deceiving ourselves". Sometimes I ask "what if there is a God, but he's a cosmic psychopath getting cheap thrills out seeing how we handle the situations he puts us in?" But I understand the Bible to be a record of the things God has done in the past, so I find it helpful when I start thinking these things to go back and read (read, not merely remember) again what he did and the love he showed to us and his patience.
