But I've seen person after person here and on BC who's been convinced that their state of life is a form of punishment rather than a blessing. Good people who've been lied to so much that they come to believe they're worthless. People who are, as we all are, children of God being told that if only they were "truly Christian", they could overcome their "illness" of being a boylover. Overcome it my foot! They should be encouraged to use their gifts responsibly, not pine and moon over not having a different set of gifts and hence a different life. I'm not directing this at you OSH, or at any one person in particular. It's a lament. A lament for the poor souls being needlessly tortured by their own sisters and brothers. A lament for those who have unwittingly been their torturers. God have mercy on us all. Come Holy Spirit; create in us new hearts. Remove bitterness and replace it with the fire of your love. ---Ford |
