Maggie's very right about drawing the distinction between those of us whose age of attraction gets stuck at a certain age, and those who respond sexually to males of their own age. This board is mainly for those of us who have got stuck - for whatever reason :-). You've not indicated where you're at. But I can also offer that my biker chick friend and I prayed for you this evening (see my post for the story of this evening) and she got very excited about the little bit that I told her about your post, coming to the same conclusion about it being a transition point for you in making the faith real in your life, rather than the faith you just grew up in. It's all about growing up - it happened to us all.... which doesn't mean it's easy; I hope you find people who you will be able to talk the issue through with, either on line or in real life. The one hard issue for you that you're going to have to face is whether you believe gay relationships are legitimate for Christians. It's perhaps the most divisive issue in the church today, with rabid partisans on each side as well as people trying to argue rationally. There's lots of discussion on the topic further down this board, though a brief hunt failed to turn it up(!), maybe not so much.... Anyway - I hope we've encouraged you by seeing there are others struggling with all these issues, so you're not the first to have to work it through. Even if you don't come by on a regular basis, it would be nice to hear where you're at in a few months time..... |
