false on it's face

The "6 degrees of separation" theory is false on it's face, for people and web-links. But it's darn close to reality.

In the past, I have had or knew people who had web sites that are DELIBERATELY constructed to be "islands unto themselves" and web sites that are designed to have "only one way in" where the "one way" is a path that is more than 6 units in, and any attempts to "jump in" directly would get you redirected back to the front gate. So much for "6 degrees of separation".

For people, you can say with almost certainty (99.99...%) that everyone who ISN'T in an isolated population is less than some number, say, 6, handshakes away from any other person. I've shaken Bill Clinton's hand, so I'm 2 handshakes away from virtually every world leader, high-level US official, high-level state official, high-level CEO, presidential entourage member, high-level US military person, etc. etc., and 3 handshakes away from everyone THEY contact on a regular basis.
