As a priest who scans this board for insight on how to advise many people; up to now, I have hesitated to respond to any postings.

Dear Sir, there is no wrong in what you have done with this young man. There is no sin on either of your behalf in what has occurred; if as you say there was love in your heart and a message to be taught that would last him a lifetime.

Your and his convictions are correct, and I understand through your writing that you love him more than a brother. There is no wrong here. Stand by him if he will allow you. Continue to impart your wisdom and advice if he is strong enough to accept it. He appears to still need your presence in his life for a while longer. Advise your young friend that there are in fact a few good scriptures that define love, friendship and the sacrifice one does for another. It is his responsibility to learn these things.

Have you considered the ministry as your true avocation. You seem to have many blessings bestowed upon you and the ability to fully sacrifice yourself for the need and betterment of those who are truly in need.
