In reply to OK I have a weird Question... submitted by Jake on July 06 2000 17:55:58

In 2 Corinthians 12 Paul spoke of having a thorn in his flesh that he begged God to get rid of, but God said "no".

In Matthew 26 (v. 39) Jesus asked God to take away "the cup", that is, not make him go through with sacrificing his life.

In both cases, Paul and Jesus willingly yielded to God's will.

While a gay person, a lesbian, or a boylover may pray for a change of sexuality, if God answers "no, it is my wish that you live your life as you are, for the rest of your life," or "no, it is my wish for you to live your life just as you are, for the next while," what is a Christian to do but recognize that God loves them just the way they are?

God does not make junk. He has a divine purpose for all of us: "Strait" or not; Male or female (or neither or mixed or other); Jew or Gentile; Black or White or Red or Yellow or ...; Christian or Non-Christian. Remember that.

-David, "d"
