Anglican - but as that doesn't mean anything

I would define myself as a conservative evangelical with a strong charismatic strand It's sad but true that the statement 'I am an Anglican' (Episcopalian to our American friend) tells you virtually nothing about what I believe. The combination of the overreaction to both the Methodist and Anglo Catholic revivals with the growth of liberalism in the church means however that it is true - a church which includes the proponents of 'The Sea of Faith', who are technically Agnostic - along with the Archbishops of Nigeria and Singapore has lost it soul; for me it is a good local church - shame about the rest.... |
