That we end up having to hide away in corners rather than live openly as celibate boylovers. If I could expect genuine love and openness to our struggle to live with an orientation which I am not happy to live with, then I would be willing to be open about it. Instead I rightly(?) expect to flamed by the sort of attitude that you stormed in with. Consider your own fellowship. If you let it be known that you were going to invite someone from this board who is commited to celibacy to come to your home, how do you think it most people in your fellowship would react. Then consider how Jesus reached out to the least acceptable members of society. Just a thought..... Not that I don't agree with the core of what you were and are saying!! But given the reality of our orientation, the issue is how do we live in such a way as to glorify God in our lives day by day. |
