Hi Forgiven, I know that your post wasn't directed to me, but I was still intrigued by something you said. "consider how Jesus reached out to the least acceptable members of (His) society." I believe that would have been the "Lepers" or actually, those who suffered with the disease of Leprocy (I hope my spelling is ok...). Of course, we know what Jesus did for these dispised unfortunates, shuned from thier very homes and villages, and bannished to a misserable life way away from thier loved ones.....He healed them!!! Jesus shocked the entire world because He actually DARED to love the unlovable, the ugly, the horrible. He touched them!!! He not only went against the rules and traditions of his people, what He did was something that most in society would consider suicidal. Are we the modern "Lepers"? I hate to say it, but, yes we are. But we are also children of God!!! Imagine that...children of God made to feel like lepers. But I praise God that we DO have each other....and perhaps someday we will join together with the REST of God's family. Until then, we are STILL assured of His GREAT love!!! Love in Jesus' Name, Chris |
