The vast majority who come here and are not boylovers have the same opinion of us as AAAAA. Very few will initially take the time to read many posts, thinking they already know all they need to know about us. Most post comments that are very vindictive and nasty, but AAAAA was rather polite under the circumstances. That's why I felt Forsaken's response was over the top.

When people come here condemning us, we can either blast them, or try to educate them. If we blast them, they will simply go away secure in the mistaken knowledge that they were right about us. It may make us feel better to take out some of our frustrations on them, but beyond that, all it does is perpetuate the stereotype they have of us. If we try to educate them, most will still leave secure in the mistaken knowledge that they were right about us, thinking that we were trying to con them. The feelings they have toward pedophiles, ingrained in them practically from birth, are not changed easily. But blasting them does absolutely no good and often just solidifies their stance against us. Explaining to them will probably not change their minds, but MIGHT plant a seed of a doubt about what they believe about us. So if I'm given the choice between promoting their misconceptions or planting a seed, I'll choose the seed.
