I agree with Cat, Blackstone and Chris, and Blackstone put it very well.

Mental torture is what you have in your life in the absence of staying on the path that our Creator has made for us. And not having that personal relationship with him as we walk down that path with our eyes on kept on Him and not this world. Mental torture is giving in to your own will and giving satin a stronghold in your life. Jesus is the one who gives us peace and satin is the one who not only wants to torture us he wants us to torture ourselves. Self inflicted torture is accepting something that is wrong in your life thinking that somehow it will make your life easy.

I know you probably mean well but I am happy not tortured. I hope you find
the truth, there is morality in this life ans it is set by God not by humans.
