when I was a teen my dad moved in with his new wife on a housing estate. She had a family of girls by her former hubby and my dad and she had a son together - just a baby back then. I visited as often as I could because it was such a revelation to be able to spend time playing with kids! They accepted me in a way that I had never known before. On the second summer I spent there I had a kind of 'reversion to childhood' which lasted the entire season. Effectively I let myself become a child for the first time ever - or so it seemed to me. Thinking about it now it was probably the happiest summer of my life. . . .It had to end of course. Is it alright to ask how old you are now? |
