why do people love? it feels good for a little while and then it feels terrible cuz how many times does it work out?



Love that "feels good for a little while" is not Love, imho.
Perhaps "falling in love" meets more what you mean.

Love works out, even if it doesn't. When you remember the same person who has left you years ago, and you have that subtle little feeling in your heart again and you feel reconnected with him/her as if time would have no meaning and understand the timelessnes of Love from the inside...
Or when you stay with the beloved one for fifty years and you still love him/her.
Or if the boy became a man and you still...

This is Love.

I believe everyone should find Love and hold on to it with whomever loves em back. And holding on to it does definitely not mean you wouldn't allow em to leave you.

Some people have a similar "feeling" for a Lord or God or a Buddha. In deep prayer or deep meditation there is no time.
And in this inner Peace with or without words lies Love, as well.

This Love, which is the heart of religion, cannot be "proven", as well as the love towards a person (or a cat for that matter) cannot be proven.

But it is true.
