Picture this scenario. An adult is aware that the vast majority of people believe that racial integration is harmful to society. He is aware that most think it's so harmful that they have enacted very severe penalties for engaing in it. He is also aware that there have been studies done that concludes that racial integration is harmful to society in many, if not most cases. He's read many stories in newspapers, magazines, and the internet, as well as watching stories on TV that show examples of how much it has messed up a lot of people's lives. Sometimes it was just the negro that messed them up, while other times it was the hell they had to go thru after it was discovered that added to their trauma. He's read the accounts from the experts as well as the parents and the boys themselves denouncing racial integration. He also knows that as a general rule, most niggers do not have the same decision making abilities as a white adult, which is why they need white people to guide them. But in spite of all that, he says to himself "I'm going to respect people regardless of the color of their skin because I love humanity and I don't believe any of that." And you wonder why I'm so quick to condemn?

In case you're wondering, argumentam ad populam tends to get raep't by sampling pretty much anything from history.

Would you like to talk about not stamping out childhood masturbation with violence? How 'bout women's suffrage?

Or how 'bout them Jew people? See... that one's very, very pertinent because it set a very chilling legal precedent on "just going along" for the sake of doing so, of not thinking for yourself.

That precedent is execution, by the way. Conversely, however, thoughout most of history, "most people" stoned the prophets. "Going along" doesn't seem like such a value in itself anymore, does it?
