I don't believe it's the primary factor behind ANY harm. I think it's a contributing factor of varying degrees. If it were a SIGNIFICANT factor (and it might or might not be, it's hard to judge) then changing social taboos would be the ultimate solution. But until that happens, we need to stop putting boys thru the social stigma.
But you don't know. Despite your claim that your goal is to protect children and your admission that if correct, this would be the ultimate solution, you still proclaimed the study or even mere contemplation of this issue to be pointless! The study of something that could lead to the ultimate solution is pointless? I'm not disqualifying anyone's view. I'm merely pointing out that the views of someone who has something to gain obviously is more suspect than the views of someone who doesn't. If you were buying a car from someone, would you be more apt to believe him if he said the car was in perfect condition, or would you believe him if he told you about some of its faults? Neither one. I would examine the car it's self. Which is what you need to do. Stop listening to the partisans on either side and actually examine the evidence. Those that claim sex doesn't harm a boy want to have sex with them. Frankly, so do I. What do I have to gain by focusing on the harm? Where is my bias? What do I have to gain? I am unwilling to have sex with boys no matter what the truth might reveal. The very fact you are a bl makes you biased under your own logic. The fact you are a victim makes you biased even more. It's very disingenuous to claim that BL's who disagree with you are biased and those who don't aren't. I don't disagree that both sides are biased. What I disagree with is the ad hominem fallacy that this is leading you to. Yes, but bike riders aren't devastated emotionally or socially stigmatized simply by riding the bike. Neither have you presented a shred of evidence that consenting boy partners in a sexual relationship with a man are either. In fact, you have already admitted that you know this is not always the case. Furthermore, you have admitted that you have no way of knowing whether it is even the most common outcome or not and you believe the way you do only by faith and a series of logical fallacies of the "appeal to popularity" and "ad hominem" type. It's obvious to most people. http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/appeal-to-popularity.html |
