I completely understand this line of reasoning. And yes, it is very true. However, I have found that while children are quite honest about things that can cause discomfort addressing, the ones that know you still love you and accept you regardless and they would let you know if they didn't.

As with adults, it's much more hard to tell. Do they pretend to accept you? Do they think things under their breath a lot about you?
