Hi guys,

A while ago I mentioned this movie, but at the time had not seen it. It stars Chad Allen (Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman, End of the Spear) and Judith Light (Who's the Boss). It's about a down-and-out gay guy who finally gets to the end of his resources and agrees, reluctantly, to check into a Christian ex-gay ministry house.

Though the producers of the movie obviously have a pro-gay view, I was extremely impressed by how graciously and fairly the Christians were portrayed. What could so easily have been an excuse to slam the "narrow-minded, bigoted fundamentalists" instead showed them as genuine, decent, loving people. In the end it left me with the impression that the characters were all, somehow, better off for having known each other, regardless of whether or not their core beliefs on the issue had changed.

By the way, I understand Chad Allen (who is gay in real life) got involved in this movie after his experience on the Christian film "End of the Spear". Apparently, he was very moved by the reaction of the producers of that film when they found out he was gay (and were getting some public backlash). Instead of dumping him and hiring someone else, they stood by him and loved him (even if they did not necessarily agree with his lifestyle).

I was very touched by this film! Highly recommended!
