| Yes it is valid to 'not forget' - except where that means you are not in fact forgiving. Ever time you remember you need to immediately respond 'but I forgive him'. Yes it's OK not to trust him in the future - but the challenge is to get to the point where you are regularly praying for his good; we are called to love 'our neighbour' as ourself - your brother comes under that COMMAND. Perhaps a way for you to demonstrate that love - which again is a choice, not a feeling - is to pray for him. Easy? Of course not. Whoever suggested that Christianity is easy?
