I also "hardly think telling him is of no value". When I was a boy, I wasn't very touchy feely with anyone other than my mom. She was the only one I ever wanted to be held by. But now, looking back, I think I really desired and needed someone to tell me that they loved me and cared for me. Other than my parents of course... but I don't think they told me often enough.
