Christmas traditions can be cool.

My church isn't Catholic but we still do a late night service on Christmas Eve. It is a candle-light service where everyone gets a candle and we all light them during the last song of the evening, which is usually "Silent Night". Then they dim the lights and everyone is singing and all the candles are glowing and it is just beautiful; which it certainly was this year. But I have to kind of give myself a little slap on the wrist because one of the things I silently look forward to is when the kids show up in thier 'jammies and fall asleep halfway durring the service...it's so cute! And I can't help myself, I always find myself imagining what it will be like on Christmas morning at thier house when they wake up and start tearing into thier gifts under the tree. I sure do miss those days with my "L"...it was always so much fun. But anyway, I love this tradition at my church every year...PLUS this year there were several boys...or actually young men...home from the Military; which is certainly wonderful to see. You could tell thier families were so glad to see them and have them home at least for a little while.
