People are garbage, and unworthy of your innermost feelings.

Really?! Are YOU garbage? Am I garbage? I'm sure there are some for which the description is apt, but on the whole, I don't think it's a fair assessment at all. People are broken, they sin, and they will let us down sometimes, but they are also made in the image of God, and a statement like that doesn't exactly reflect well on God's ability as Creator.
