A bomb and a blessing!

Ok, here you go...two quick movie revues for the price of one...

The first one I want to revue, in my opinion, is a terrible bomb, and I am highly disappointed in Disney for this. I had been wanting to see "The Tooth Fairy" ever since I first saw the previews for it on TV. I really like Dwayne Johnson (A.K.A. "The Rock" when he was a wrestler) in other movies and I thought this one would be pretty good with him in it. Boy was I wrong. The jokes are bad, the story is old and has been told many, many times over. I thought there might be some redemption when a kind of mini-story developes with Johnson's character and a young boy who is desperately needing a father-figure in his life. But they couldn't even get that right. Sorry Disney, but it looks like you really bombed with this one! That is my opinion, feel free to check it out for yourselves but don't say I didn't warn you.

The second movie is a real gem, and I highly recommend it for anyone. It is "The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry". Let me ask you, when was the last time you saw an excellent Christian movie that inspired you to get closer to God and to share the Gospel with everyone you know? Probably been quite a while, right? Well, search no more, this is one of THE most inspiring movies I have seen in a long time. It is an independent film but by no means is it cheap or badly made. It is the story of how one old man, Jonathan Sperry, is able to teach and guide three young boys some of the most important spiritual lessons of their lives. The main character is actually one of the boys, Dustin. He is very bright, very nice, and he and Mr. Sperry hit it off right away. Then for the rest of the movie the viewer is priveleged to be a witness to the way that Mr. Sperry mentors Dustin and his two friends to follow the Lord. What can I say, I fell in love with every single character in this movie and was moved to tears several times when Jonathan shows his three young friends what it means to really be a Christian. I highly recommend this movie. I recently showed it to my Pastor and he absolutely loved it. He is going to recommend that our church purchase a copy and that they show it to the youth group. This is one to watch with your Y.F., especially if you are looking for a good way to introduce him to the Lord. I love this movie and give it a big double thumbs up!!!

Sorry Disney but it looks like you have been out-classed by God!

Chris
