If he was not dating someone I'd say go for it, as it is you are right that it would be a bad idea.

Unfortunately unrequited love is something everyone goes through no matter who you are attracted to, straight, gay, pedo, anything else. It is more of a problem for gay people and more so for MAAs. It will be hard but you will be ok just don't do what Romeo did :p

Maybe you can find some local gay organizations and find yourself a nice guy.
