Right. That's typical of what you hear people who don't know any better say. Thus it raises the question, is grooming a type of behavior that actually occurs? or is "grooming" the result of people misunderstanding a preferential pedophile's motivations.

When it comes to grooming and the existence of stereotypical "child molester" pedophiles, I am certainly agnostic. I haven't seen any evidence that either exists. On the other hand, I have seen plenty of evidence that people have a tendency to misunderstand our motivations and that any sexual relationship with a child can have all of its non-sexual components mischaracterized.
